Cookie Policy

OntarioPeak uses minimal browser storage. This policy explains exactly what is stored on your device, why, and how to remove it.

What We Store and Why

OntarioPeak uses browser localStorage rather than traditional HTTP cookies for the limited client-side storage it requires. localStorage stores data only on your device — it is never transmitted to our servers as part of normal web requests, unlike HTTP cookies which are sent with every request. Below is a complete list of what we store.

ow_age_ok — Stores the value "1" when you confirm you are 18 or over on the age verification screen. This prevents the age gate from appearing on every subsequent visit from the same device and browser. Without this value, the age gate appears each time you visit. We store this because it improves the experience for returning visitors and prevents the verification step from being unnecessarily repetitive.

ow_ck_ok — Stores the value "a" (accepted) or "d" (declined) when you interact with the cookie notice banner. This prevents the banner from reappearing on every visit. If you decline, no analytics or optional scripts are loaded. If you accept, lightweight aggregate analytics may be collected (see our Privacy Policy for details).

No other values are stored in localStorage by OntarioPeak. The game's session state (credit balance, current bet, auto-play status) is held only in JavaScript memory — it is not persisted to localStorage or cookies and is lost when you close or refresh the page.

Third-Party Storage

OntarioPeak loads fonts from Google Fonts and icons from Cloudflare's CDN (Font Awesome). These services may set their own storage items on your device in accordance with their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing Google's and Cloudflare's privacy policies if this is a concern for you. These are essential for the visual presentation of the site and cannot be disabled without affecting the rendering of text and interface icons.

OntarioPeak uses Google Consent Mode v2. In its default state, all Google consent categories are set to "denied" and no Google-associated tags are active. If you have accepted our cookie notice, a lightweight analytics tag may activate. This tag does not collect personally identifying information and does not connect your visit to any advertising profile. No advertising or remarketing tags are used on OntarioPeak.

How to Remove Stored Data

You can remove all OntarioPeak localStorage entries at any time through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings. In most browsers: open Settings > Privacy & Security > Clear browsing data > check "Site data" or "Cookies and other site data" > Clear data. This will remove the age-gate confirmation and cookie preference, meaning both prompts will appear again on your next visit. It will not affect game credits (those are lost when you close the page regardless).

Alternatively, in browser developer tools (F12), navigate to Application > Local Storage > your site domain, then delete the ow_age_ok and ow_ck_ok entries individually.

Changes to This Policy

If we change what we store or why, we will update this page and note the revision date below. We will not add new storage categories without updating this policy first. We will never store financial data, health data, or data that could identify you personally without explicit, informed consent.
